If it's flooded forget it
Not if you want to explore Australia’s North! Flooded creeks and rivers are a part of life, when travelling the tropical North of our Country. Even in the dry season, you need the right vehicle and knowledge on how to drive to these conditions. One early method of choice (employed by my dad), for determining the depth and flow of a crossing, was to tie a rope around the oldest or biggest child and send him in to test the water. You’ll also see in some of these pics how caravans assisted with flotation.
