Surf's up at Lake Coolmunda

January 2017, we hitched the boat for a road trip around the Southern Lakes of Queensland in search of yellowbelly and the elusive cod. One of our more memorable stops was Lake Coolmunda just outside Inglewood. Troy at the Coolmunda Caravan Park organised a tip top cabin for us. It was here we ran into inland fishing legend Jason Edwards. I snapped this shot of Jason on his boat with his son on a very warm and still evening. What you can’t quite see from this pic is Jason fighting with the granddaddy of all Cod. (or maybe a tree stump). Whatever it was Jason came home empty handed that day. Somehow the photo made its way to Bali and came back immortalised on an hand painted surfboard. There are some very clever people out there and Jason now has a great memory of his trip.
