1960s Big Lap - Albany to Perth

16,618 miles in an unbreakable 1962 EK Holden towing a 15' Viscount Van.

From Albany we travelled through the giant Karri forests, with a surprising break at the hop gardens near Pemberton. It was here we visited the famous 'Gloucester Tree' with its fire lookout tower built in the uppermost branches. At Deepdene, near Augusta, we relaxed for a few days and collected some more Insects.

Moving on to Perth, by way of Cape Naturaliste, Busselton, and Bunbury. It was on this coast that we saw Western Australia’s version of the Sydney Opera House. with its upright blue sail-like roofs looking out over the beach. Someones idea of a beach house. ( W .A. readers, please advise.)
